[Ayuda] Me fallo compilacion kernel-ntfs..

No sé que me fallo en la re-compilación del Kernel para soporte de
Filesystem NTFS,
a continuación te mando los pasos que seguí.  Mucho agradecería me
dijeran que me falló.

En general seguí los pasos que Sergio M. Ramírez Martínez algún día
sugirió

0. Hice un respaldo del directorio  /usr/src/linux-2.4 y del directorio
/boot

1. cd /usr/src/linux-2.4

2. make xconfig
        -> File ystems
                 -> NTFS file system support (read only) :  Lo puse en
"y"

3. make dep

4. Luego en una sola línea
   make bzImage && make modules && make modules_install && make install;

echo $?

   Según Sergio si  me regresa un "0" entonces todo salio bien. Y si me
salio un "0" :-D

5. cd /boot; ls -l

En este directorio me creo los siguientes archivos nuevos.
    - vmlinuz-2.4.7-10custom
    - vmlinuz -> vmlinuz-2.4.7-10custom (liga)
    - System.map-2.4.7-10custom
    - System.map -> System.map-2.4.7-10custom (liga)


 6.  cd /etc ; vi lilo.conf

prompt
timeout=50
default=linux
boot=/dev/hda
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
message=/boot/message
lba32

image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.7-10
        label=linux
        read-only
        root=/dev/hda3
        append="hdd=ide-scsi"

other=/dev/hda1
        optional
        label=DOS


HE HICE LOS SIGUIENTES CAMBIOS

boot=/dev/hda
map=/boot/System.map
install=/boot/boot.b
message=/boot/message

image=/boot/vmlinuz
        label=linux

        root=/dev/hda3
        append="hdd=ide-scsi"

7.  En el fstab inclui la linea...
     /dev/hda2               /mnt/ntfs               ntfs
ro,user,noauto  0 0

   OjO Ya esta creado el punto de montaje. El directorio /mnt/ntfs
existe

8. Reinicie el equipo, entro sin problema  y

9. Le doy /mnt/ntfs
    mount: el tipo de sistema de archivos ntfs no está soportado por el
kernel



ME ECHE UN GRAN ROLLO pero puse exactamente lo que hice,
ALGUIEN ME PODRÌA DECIR QUE ME FALLO O BIEN
QUE TENGO QUE HACER PARA COMPILAR EL Kernel con
soporte de Filesystem NTFS.
