You can do all this and more at the USENIX Annual Technical Conference, June 6-11, in Monterey, California, USA. - ----------------------------------------------------------------- Review the program and register online at: http://www.usenix.org/events/usenix99 - ----------------------------------------------------------------- If you are looking for training on a serious level, be sure to sign up for the tutorials. Expanded to three days, there are 24 tutorials to choose from. Eric Allman, Tom Christiansen, Peter Galvin, Evi Nemeth, and Marcus Ranum are among the instructors. For cutting-edge research that will keep you ahead of the technology curve, there are the refereed papers. The program committee received 63 strong submissions and selected 23. The paper topics are of especially high interest: resource management, file systems, virtual memory systems, security, web server performance, storage systems , and O/S performance. The Invited Talks are stimulating, extremely practical presentations on Y2K, the Microsoft antitrust trial, IP Multicast, E-mail Bombs, IPv6, and IP Telephony. John Ousterhout, creator of Tcl/Tk, focuses his keynote on a fundamental shift in software development to integration applications. This year we again bring you FREENIX, devoted to open source software's latest developments and most interesting applications. Peer-refereed papers, expert talks, and evening sessions will be led by the likes of Linus Torvalds, Richard Stallman, Kirk McKusick, Theodore Ts'o, Theo de Raadt, and other leading developers. The 1999 Annual Conference has a lot to offer. Come meet with your peers, exchange solutions, and share a beer! Please join us in Monterey, June 6-11. I look forward to seeing you there.
