Broncas con CdwriterHP7200

tengo un problema con mi cdwriterhp7200, simplemente no he podido hacer
que lo reconozca linux, la unidad se conecta mediante puerto lpt, el
detalle es que ya recompile el kernel para darle soporte, segun hay que
hacer esto:

desactivar include ide/atapi cdrom
activar scsi support
activar scsi cdrom support
activar scsi generic support

me falta hacer algo ???
