tengo linux red hat 6.2 y lo estoy utilizando con KDE
ya configure los dns, el nombre del isp, el telefono, etc.

cuando marco el "Login Script Debug Window" escribe:

OK
CARRIER 34000
PROTOCOL: LAP-M
CONECT 38400

Y DESPUES EL KPP DICE "Loggin in the network"
PERO LUEGO ME MARCA UN ERROR: "The pppd daemon died unexpedly"
CUANDO PRESIONO EL BOTON DETALLES:
 "Kppp could not prepare a ppp log. It´s very likely that pppd was
  starter whitout the "debug" option
  Whitout this options it´s difficult to find out ppp problem, so you
  should turn on now"

PRESIONO SI PARA HABILITAR LA OPCION
Y DESPUES EL PPP LOG DICE:
"Pppd 2.3.7 started by root, uid0
Using interface ppp0
Conect: ppp0 <-->/dev/tts0
LCP: timeout sending config-request
Conection terminated
Exit"

EN LA ULTIMA PARTE EL DIAGNOSTICO DE KPPP DICE:
" The remote system does not seem to answer to configuration request!
 Contact your provider"


BUENO, ESTOY CON PRODIGY PEDI SUS DNS LOS INSTALE Y LISTO.
YA PROBE PONER EL /dev/modem
YA PROBE LA SEGURIDAD PAP Y CHAP
INTENTE TAMBIEN CAMBIAR EL ARCHICO OPTIONS Y QUITARLE "LOCK"
YA AGREGUE LOS DNS MANUALMENTE EN EL ARCHIVO

EN GENERAL EL MODEM MARCA BIEN PERO CREO QUE EL PROBLEMA ESTA A LA HORA DE 
COMPROBAR NOMBRE DE USUARIO Y CONTRASEÑA, QUIZAS ALGUNO DE LOS DATOS NO LOS 
MANDE.
EL MODEM ES UN MOTOROLA VOICE SURF, EXTERNO
