Si de hecho eso lo tengo en mi maquina, puedo arrancar con una u otra opcion
pero es muy tardado asi cambiar de sistema para comparar resultados no crees? 
Es decir, tiene sus ventajas trabajar al mismo tiempo con los dos sistemas

Tal vez parezca buena la idea por el hecho de no abandonar el ambiente
de windows, pero existe otra solucion, puedes instalar windows y linux
en tu maquina, asi, cuando tengas tiempo de practicar inicias linux y
cuando te canses o quieras hacer otra cosa que no sepas aun en linux
pues inicias windows.

Ok, vale tu pregunta, pero por que no mejor aprender utilizando
GNU/Linux??, es mejor que te inviten (o que invites) a alguien a
utilizar GNU/Linux en vez de Cygwin, la razon, simple, no necesitas
Windows para aprender el entorno de Unix.
