problema con postgres

Despues de compilar e instalar el postgres me manda el siguiente error :

[postgres@lagente postgres]$ initdb
pg_encoding: error in loading shared libraries: pg_encoding: undefined symbol: pg_char_to_encoding

No entiendo a que se deba ya que es la tercera vez que lo hago y en las dos anteriores maquinas no tuve ningun problema
