Hi' Its possible build one miniversion of Linux for Atari8..... for: - Programming or - Networking.... Yep ofcourse I seen a LUNIX for C64 (a unix kind clone) but linux is also available for systems without memory management like the 68000 the 68030 has it so a port to these machines was quite easily done. Look on the internet for LINUX for embedded systems, I heard that SONY and a few others like NOKIA will make the new WAB telephones also based on a LINUX kernel just very small. I saw once a site but can't remember where they where making LINUX for Z80... It will not be fast but 10 to 20 processes could be done the C64 (1mhz) can do 32 processes and even has TCP/IP and TELNET running on 9600 Baud so a 1.79Mhz Atari can do it also... LUNIX sources are free! TXG
